Research Profile: metabolic engineering, tissue engineering, system biology
My research is ultimately aimed at better understanding cellular metabolism and its role in shaping biological function. Current research activities in my laboratory fall into the following thrust areas: models to understand and simulate metabolic reaction networks; methods to detect, identify, and quantify small molecule metabolites in complex biological samples; identification of enzyme targets for metabolic disease therapy; and engineering pathways for biosynthesis of complex biomolecules.
